WeeWorld - it's not exactly Lively.

Seems like everyone wants an avatar based chat environment and I attempted to check out WeeWorld's... no dice... it didn't happen. Maybe my internet connection was just too slow since it's currently being strangled due to my household exceeding its month 12GB download limit. Should be back up to speed any day now.
Anyhow, prior to WeeWorld I checked out Google's Lively (do a Google search - you'll find it) their new 3D avatar, chat room set up. Like WeeWorld it's new but unlike WeeWorld it still kind of works even if your connection is being limited. The avatars look way cooler and setting up a 3D room is more fun than a WeeMee room. Aside from that it's still a bunch of people trying to hit on each other... nothing revolutionary there then.
I kind of like the 3D nature of Google's Lively which I will admit I tried because I'm interested in giving Second Life a whirl but that whole world seems a bit intimidating to go into when you're not even that used to the more familiar instant messaging stuff like msn messenger.
So I've waffled on enough to say I've added a new post to this blog. Feel free to comment and, if you've found a really good online, avatar based world (that isn't online gaming) let me know and I'll check it out.
