What is SBYC?

SBYC is the largest youth-led environmental coalition in the world and is dedicated to saving the Spirit bear, a rare sub-species of the common black bear found in British Columbia, Canada. In addition to its work with the Spirit Bear, SBYC also recognizes British Columbia's need for income and sustainability - which comes from the local habitat of the Spirit Bear.

By working collaboratively, SBYC has made great strides to save the Spirit Bear and its habitat and has also helped generate viable land-use plans to help preserve both economy and natural habitat.
